I put this on twitter on Memorial Day as a thought provoking matter, but I want to extend to the blogosphere.
Is it littering to leave a penny on the ground?
You drop some change. You scoop up the quarter and dimes and leave a penny that is several feet away. You are in too much of a hurry to walk over and pick up a 1 cent piece. It is worth very little, yet worth something. I know some of you are already asking…”What if everyone left their pennies behind”
Any philosophical ideas/debates?

I always pick up pennies when I see them.
Pennies add up to dollars. I don’t know when people forgot this.
I went to Starbucks this week and used a gift card I had been given. It has 9 cents remaining on it (now). I started thinking what if a million Starbucks customers never cashed in the remaining pennies on their starbucks card… If only one million people, left 9 cents on thier Starbucks card, Starbucks would make $90,000.
Place like Starbucks count on people doing just that Casey. I’m like you in the fact I will pick up a penny when I see one. It all adds up eventually.

My class pick up pennies to learn about money and life skills. So if it is not so stessful next time pick up a penny for Vera’s class!
I always pick up pennies. That is one cent more that God has blessed me with. If He can’t trust us to praise Him for a penny, then how can He trust us to praise Him for the other increases we are ALWAYS asking for? One penny IS an increase! What if He put that one penny there along with the 300 other pennies that we walk over daily, to bless us? Are we telling God we don’t want His blessing because it’s too small?

I too always pick up coins on the street.
I use to work at a job that took me all over austin reading meter and i use to pick up pennys and other change but pennys most of all, in one year it totaled over 100 dollars !!! so it does add up.
I always pick up pennies when I see them. I call them my pennies from heaven. On the back of all change is written “In God we trust” How can one overlook something so important. So when I come across a penny and pick it up I look towards heaven and thank God for his blessings. I always go away from the spot I found the penny knowing that God is always with me and a smile automatically comes across my face.
oops on coins it is written on the front of the coin “In God We Trust” is written above Abraham Lincoln’s head on the penny. My son corrected me.
